CSD demo in Düsseldorf with 4000 people

According to the police, around 4,000 people held a colorful demonstration on Christopher Street Day in Düsseldorf to showcase diversity and respect.

This exceeded the organizers' expectations many times over: They had expected around 1000 participants for the rally on Saturday afternoon.

Düsseldorf - The move with several colorfully decorated cars through Düsseldorf city center and along the Rhine has so far gone smoothly, the control center said.

After two years, in which the spectacle could only take place as a bicycle rally due to the pandemic, the organizers had also invited to a street festival with a stage program near the Rhine this year.

Under the motto “Solidarity has many colors”, numerous CSD demo participants presented themselves in brightly colored or flashy outfits, wore clothes or flags in the colors of the rainbow.

On Friday, a memorial was unveiled on the banks of the Rhine in memory of victims of sexual discrimination and the acceptance of sexual diversity.
