ANKARA, SANA- An earthquake measuring 4.2 degrees on the Richter scale hit the Aegean Sea off the coast of Mugla state, western Turkey.

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale hit the Aegean Sea off the coast of Mugla state in western Turkey today.

The Anadolu Agency quoted the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority as saying that "the tremor occurred off the coast of Dacha district, at a depth of 37.30 km below sea level."

There were no immediate reports of any injuries or material losses as a result of the tremor.
