Egypt and Cyprus today signed a memorandum of understanding on the electrical interconnection project between the two countries.
And media outlets quoted the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity as saying in a statement that Egyptian Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker signed the memorandum with Cypriot Energy Minister Natasha Peledas to study the establishment of the electrical interconnection project between the two countries, on the sidelines of his visit to Cyprus.
The ministry indicated that the memorandum aims to study the establishment of a strong interconnection network between the two sides to improve energy supply and increase the participation of electricity generated from renewable energy sources.
