The Syrian Olympic team will spend four days in an indoor training camp before heading to Qatar to compete in the qualifiers for the 2022 AFC U-23 finals.

The camp that started today, led by our national team coach Raafat Muhammad, includes 27 players. By the end of it, football lovers hope that the players will reach the required readiness for the upcoming qualifiers after leaving the semi-finals of the West Asian Federation Championship that was recently held in Saudi Arabia.

The camp list included the players: Anas Bitar, Abdul Basit Bustani, Abdullah Mahawesh, Youssef Muhammad, Rami Al-Turk, Muhammad Al-Olayan, Mustafa Al-Safani, Ahmed Al-Khassi, Oliver Caskaw, Majd Al-Ghayeb, Dia Al-Haq Muhammad, Ayman Akil, Abdul-Jawad Bitar, Ahmed Al-Dali, Loay Al-Sharif, Mustafa Junaid, Al-Laith Ali, Ali Bashmani, Yahya Al-Karak, Mustafa and Benshi, Mohamed Malta, Abdelhadi Shalha, Omar Naaoua, Ammar Ramadan and Mohamed Al-Hallaq.

Our team had recently participated in the West Asian Federation Championship in Group C along with Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, where it won in the first round against Bahrain 4-1 and lost to Saudi Arabia 0-2 and qualified for the semi-finals as the best second place in the three groups in the championship, while losing to Jordan in half Final 2-5.

It is noteworthy that the draw for the qualifiers put our team in the first group along with the teams of Qatar, Yemen and Sri Lanka, whose matches will be held in Doha in a single-stage pool system between 23 and 30 October.
