Marie Langlois and Jordan Vaz, thanks to their Clefs des champs point of sale, provide automated lockers, allowing

“People aren't going to drive twenty-five minutes to pick up my potatoes and carrots. »Clément Moerman, from the Petite Solle farm in Mortemer, tried the bet of the vending machine of farm products in town. “I have had one for eight years operating in addition to my shop. I tried it because I wanted to reach new customers. We must evolve with the times! »It was in Compiègne that Clefs des champs opened at the beginning of October. Marie Langlois and her partner, Jordan Vaz, have moved to the city center to offer a concept that already works well in the countryside: the automated locker.

At the entrance to rue Vivenel, instead of an insurance firm, the couple had 129 refrigerated lockers installed which are rented by the day by farmers installed within a radius of 50 km. City dwellers can therefore enjoy organic eggs from Buchoire, farm yogurts from Dancourt-Popincourt (Somme), fruits and vegetables from Mortemer and Vandélicourt, goat cheeses from Berneuil-sur-Aisne, pasta from Canny-sur- Matz, meat from Salency, poultry from Thiescourt, but also aperitif baskets or small dishes already cooked. And this… 24 hours a day. Fifteen are currently trying this concept.

Compiègne, this Friday.

Marie Langlois and Jordan Vaz rode the Clefs des champs in six months.

If, during the confinement, the urbanites had time to go to the farms to eat better, this is no longer the case ... LP / SF

“We are present from 8 am to 7 pm, but everything is self-service.

It is possible to come to do your shopping at any time of the day or night, says Jordan Vaz.

This can be useful for workers who finish late or those who start early.

To do this, you have to register on our website and give a code to open the door.

The site is secure and video monitored.

Since the end of confinement, city dwellers have moved away from farms

If the peaks of purchases are rather during the lunch break or at the end of the afternoon, the designers of Clefs des Champs were amused to see that a customer came to buy a basket of vegetables at 4 o'clock in the morning!

"A nighttime craving?

»Jokes Marie Langlois.

The objective is to bring the products of the countryside to the city at cost price for the producer.

“These lockers exist in a lot of farms.

More and more, moreover, with confinement.

There was a breakthrough five or six years ago.

But city dwellers do not go to the farms to shop.

So we bring them, ”explains Jordan Vaz, who takes care of collecting food from breeders and farmers.

The latter had originally bought the place to make it rental offices.

But the offers of facilities that were made to him were not really up to his expectations, like electronic cigarette stores, already numerous in town.

So, he decided to create his activity that is in line with the ideals of the couple.

“During confinement, I was pregnant and my only way out was to go get my vegetables from the Génicourt vending machine, not far from my home,” smiles Marie.

So we thought about it and in six months the idea turned into reality!

Hygiene and product quality, customers are delighted

And the idea pleases.

Armelle, a client, is won over.

“Eating local just got easier.

You can find everything there and you can go there whenever you want.

I went there out of curiosity and left with a mess-free basket and a delicious dish!

Arnaud sees it as a constraint every now and then.

“This shop allows me to quickly buy local and quality products.

It fully responds to my lifestyle and my consumer values.

For this client, even more concerned with hygiene since the health crisis, the lockers are a plus.

“The good thing is that I'm sure no one has fiddled with the products before I buy them, unlike what happens in supermarkets.

People feel the fruits, put them down.

It is not very hygienic, there, at least, I am sure that it did not pass from hand to hand!
