Baghdad - Sana
Adviser to the Iraqi Prime Minister, Abdul-Hussein Al-Hindawi, announced today the completion of the manual counting of votes in all quarantined polling stations.
In a statement to the Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hindawi said that the commission completed the manual counting and sorting, and the results were identical to the electronic sorting.
The Independent High Electoral Commission had announced earlier that 95 percent of the manual counting of the 3,681 quarantined stations had been completed, noting that the number of complaints lodged regarding the conduct of the elections amounted to 356.
The general voting for the Iraqi parliament elections took place last Sunday, when the Independent High Electoral Commission announced that the initial participation rate reached 41 percent.
