Karlsruher SC celebrated their second home win of the season in the 2nd Bundesliga. Thanks to an increase in performance in the second half, coach Christian Eichner's team won 2: 1 (0: 0) against FC Erzgebirge Aue, who were still without a win and slipped back to the bottom of the table under their new coaching duo Marc Hensel and Carsten Müller.

Karlsruhe - After a weak first half, Karlsruhe turned up in front of 12,000 spectators and achieved a deserved victory with a goal from substitute Fabian Schleusener (46th minute) and the fifth goal of the season from top scorer Philipp Hofmann (67th).

The Baden initially moved up to fifth, there they are three points behind the promotion zone.

Aue could only shorten in the closing stages with a free kick from Anthony Barylla (83).

KSC goalkeeper Marius Gersbeck had previously seen the red card after a foul (80th).
