The current Education University Sports Center will be moved near the university headquarters
The site area of the new station is about 5 hectares and it is currently used as the sports center of the Education University of Hong Kong.
Lam Cheng said that the site is located along the East Rail and the Tolo Highway, opposite to the northern end of the Science Park and private housing estates and an international school that have been occupied in recent years. Next to it is another private housing estate under construction, referring to new cars. The stand-up will provide great convenience for tens of thousands of residents and scientific researchers.
And because the land area is not small, Lam Cheng said that he would make good use of the land to increase housing supply and meet the needs of residents.
However, the selected site is currently the Education University Sports Center. Carrie Lam mentioned that in the Policy Address, he has promised to relocate the sports center to the university headquarters as requested by the University of Education earlier. Teachers and students do not need to sit in the future. Shuttle bus to and from campus and sports center.
Lam Cheng said that this is a win-win solution, and the government will push forward the relevant projects at full speed.
