CDU leader Armin Laschet has called for more consensus in view of a likely opposition role in the federal government and several upcoming state elections.
"We have to stand together again," said Laschet at the Junge Union (JU) Germany Day in Münster on Saturday.
It should go against the political opponent and "not against each other in the Union family".
Münster - The Union is facing an opposition role in the federal government.
In the opposition it is particularly important to "appear together and unanimously" and to "wisely and intelligently put your finger in the wound where a future government will make mistakes."
After an open and honest analysis of the deficits “in the person”, in the campaign and content, the focus must also be on the state elections.
With a view to the election in North Rhine-Westphalia in May 2022, Laschet emphasized to the delegates: "We have to do everything we can to ensure that red-green does not have influence again."
