A film from Bangladesh with the title “Rickshaw Girl” then won the main prize from the Saxon State Media Authority.

In order to earn money for her family, the girl Naima pretends to be a boy and becomes a rickshaw driver.

Prizes for the best animated film as well as audience prizes and prizes from the children's and youth jury were also awarded.

After a year and a half of the pandemic, the German Film Prize will be presented again in front of a large audience for the first time.

The first guests came to the Berlin exhibition center on Friday afternoon, including actress Veronica Ferres, series star Kida Khodr Ramadan (“4Blocks”) and director Detlev Buck.

Around 1200 people were invited - all of them had to go to the corona test in advance.

The winners were decided by specialist and children's juries.

The "Schlingel" sees itself as an international film festival for children and young audiences.

According to the organizers on Saturday, around 17,000 visitors came to the 26th edition of the children's film festival this year.
