The pedigree dog exhibition is one of the most popular fairs in Rostock.
Even last October, when no corona vaccination was available, more than 16,000 visitors came.
Rostock - The two-day international pedigree dog exhibition began on Saturday in Rostock with a rush of visitors.
“The Hanseatic Fair is very well filled,” said project manager Kathrin Schiemann.
The first visitors with their dogs were already on the site at 7 a.m. to prepare them for the competitions.
In these competitions, the dogs are judged by a jury according to the breed-typical characteristics.
The best possible rating was “excellent”, said Schiemann.

A total of 2071 four-legged friends were registered for the two days of the fair - that is another 300 more than in the previous year and more than ever before.
271 breeds are represented, which is also a record according to the organizer. The most represented breed is the Labrador Retriever.
The registered dog owners come from 16 countries.
Besides Germany, Denmark and Sweden are the most common countries of origin, as Schiemann reported.
In order to be able to adhere to the corona distance rules, many areas and program items have been moved outside.
This means that a total of 43,000 square meters is available.
One of the highlights this year is a casting in which film dogs are being sought.
