Hong Kong's new crown vaccination rate has not reached 70%. The Secretary for Civil Service, Nie Dequan, stated on a radio program this morning (16th) that a "vaccine line" will be set up to take the elderly to the vaccination center for injections.
The government will also launch a mobile vaccine vehicle next month to vaccinate the public with Fubitai and Kexing vaccines in housing estates and other places.
In the past week, only 3000 people received the first injection every day
Nie Dequan said that in the past 7 days, only 3,000 people received the first dose of vaccination per day, which was a significant decrease from earlier, and called on citizens who have not received the first dose to get the first dose before the end of November.
He expects that the number of vaccination centers will decrease in the future, and arrangements will be made depending on the need for the third injection.
In addition to vaccination in clinics and 7 hospitals, community halls will also provide on-site vaccination services.
He also said that the government has purchased 7.5 million doses of Fubitai and Kexing vaccines, and there are sufficient numbers for the citizens to get the third shot.
The Civil Service Bureau stated that since some housing estates do not have suitable places for vaccinations against the new crown, the bureau will use regular vaccination coaches to pick up residents, especially the elderly, in the relevant housing estates at specific housing estates and times. The nearby community vaccination center will be vaccinated, and when the vaccination is completed, they will be picked up and returned to the relevant housing estate.
The vaccine line coach service is expected to start next week and will be piloted in four housing estates in Sham Shui Po District, including Fu Cheong Village, Haida Village, Haili Village and Haiying Village.
Residents of these four housing estates will be transported to the Community Vaccination Center of Kwun Chung Sports Centre, Jordan, to receive the Kexing vaccination.
WHO experts earlier suggested that people over 60 years of age who were vaccinated with Kexing and Sinopharm should receive a third dose to strengthen their protection.
The government expert advisory group will meet next Thursday (21st) to discuss the principles and implementation time of the third dose of vaccination.
