After the violent death of a pregnant woman and her unborn baby in Lüneburg, an arrest warrant was issued against the 37-year-old partner.
The man is suspected of having stabbed his wife, the police said on Saturday.
The officials said they had arrested the man from Tunisia on Friday due to traces at the scene and the circumstances of the crime.
Lüneburg - The suspicion was then confirmed, so that a judge at the Soltau district court issued an arrest warrant on Saturday at the request of the Lüneburg public prosecutor's office.
The police did not provide any further details about the background to the crime.
