Damascus-SANA
The sanctity of the nation's knowledge, the preservation of the environment, the importance of forgiving others and taking care of wildlife are various topics. The Syrian General Book Organization has chosen to be content for its recently published stories in the "Our Children" series.
In the story “Who is the Winner”, writer Tharaa Al-Roumi, accompanied by Fadi Kiwan’s drawings, takes us to the home of the child Nawar, who, with the help of his mother, completed a school project on the tree feast.
Nawar chooses that his project should be the Syrian flag, which is made of anemones, jasmine flowers, roasted wheat grains and basil leaves, but he gets tired and falls asleep.
As for the story of “Samah Magazine,” the writer Joud Abu Samra, accompanied by Bahr Abu Shedid’s drawings, introduces us to the village of the little girl Samah, who used to protect it from harmful environmental practices, which made her stay away from her friends and content herself with her relationship with trees and birds.
However, Samah moves from her village to the city to study, where she meets a girl who is similar in her interests in wildlife, and they work together to issue a wall magazine bearing her name and is concerned with environmental affairs.
We also go in “Turtles Clean the Beaches,” the story of Ihab Al-Qastawi and the drawings of Mohamed Mardini, to the world of these marine creatures, where marine pollutants hinder their lives, so they clean the beach with a collective work of waste and plastic waste.
