Sixth graders have a lot of inconvenience in life because their schoolmates have a defect in their right hand, unable to control their fingers and muscles.

Seeing that the robotic arm in the market is not flexible and the price is high, I want to develop a new prosthetic arm and hope to help my classmates.

After three years of trial in special schools, we finally designed a product that does not require electricity, is waterproof, and has heat detection. You can pick up a penny coin with your finger.

Zhang Yuetong, a student involved in the design and development, revealed that the cost of this robotic arm is very cheap, only 500 yuan.

There are many people with handicapped arms in the society, some of them need to be manipulated by the nervous system.

Zhang Yuetong said that these designs are not suitable for students whose right hand cannot control the fingers and wrist muscles, so she and her senior sister started to try to study a flexible robotic arm 3 years ago.

After 3 years, they drew drawings, cut equipment parts, and assembled and updated them. They upgraded from the first-generation arm to the more flexible second-generation arm.

The new design is low-cost, does not require electricity, has heat-sensitive applications, and is very refined. It is very easy to pick up a penny coin from the desktop.

Zhang revealed that he has always kept an open mind when designing, allowing the parties to give their opinions. He has also tried it out in special schools and received a lot of suggestions for improvement. "The wrist can be turned and the fingers are more flexible. Carbon-lead materials. The cost is only 500 yuan."

Pan Husheng, a 9-year-old fourth-year student, is also a small inventor.

He has a shy and introverted personality, but he is always very engaged when talking about technology and creativity with his classmates.

There are a lot of whimsical ideas.

One day he saw a piece of sewage left by the waste scavenger while collecting garbage, so he planned to study a portable garbage incinerator.

It took him a month to drew the drawings, which included length, width, weight, and lighting components.

The drawing will also describe the internal structure carefully.

Pan's father said that he thought he could teach children many things, but he didn't expect his son to learn more online, "I may not be updated enough, so I listened more and lowered myself."

Students Zhang and Student Pan are the champions of the high school group and the junior group (creative design book) of the "STEM-Up Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Contest" respectively.
