According to the report, Madhat al-Salah, who was released from prison in Israel in 1988 and infiltrated into Syria, was killed while staying near the Israeli border, in front of the town of Majdal Shams.

The Syrian state news agency "Sana" reported tonight (Saturday) on the assassination of the prisoner released from Israeli prison and adviser to Syrian President Golan Affairs, Madhat al-Salah, in an Israeli attack on the Syrian Golan.

According to a report on the Lebanese network Al-Miyadin, which is affiliated with the terrorist organization Hezbollah, Salah was killed while staying near the Israeli border, in front of the town of Majdal Shams.

The media did not say how the man was killed.

Salah was a former member of the Syrian parliament and a member of the ruling Ba'ath party, and he also represented the residents of the Syrian Golan.

Salah, a native of the Golan Heights, headed the ministry of monitoring the Golan Heights residents of the Syrian government and also advised Hafez al-Assad, the former president of Syria, and his son Bashar al-Assad.

Salah was arrested in 1985 in Majdal Shams and convicted of terrorist activity against Israel.

After his release in 1998, he infiltrated Syrian territory and settled there.
