The CDU education politician Christian Tischner has warned against wanting to save money with the corona test strategy in schools.
One should not save on health and education, said Tischner on Saturday on the sidelines of a CDU state party conference in Suhl.
"And if the Ramelow government thinks it must now save on health, in education, then that is twice as bad," said Tischner.
Suhl / Erfurt - With a view to a special report of the scientific advisory board of the state government on infection protection in schools, which became known on Friday, Tischner emphasized that there are differences between science and politics.
"I think politics must take note of the realities on the ground," said Tischner.
He heard from the districts that the infection process is spreading there mainly because chains of infection are not interrupted in schools, among other places.
"Then I believe that a test system is necessary as an early warning system," said Tischner.
In the special report, the scientific advisory board comes to the conclusion that unprovoked corona tests in schools can no longer be justified.
At the same time, the advisory board recommends the "consistent wearing of masks and systematic implementation of the AHAL rules".
AHAL stands for distance, everyday mask, hygiene, ventilation.
At first it remained open whether the advisory board meant wearing masks in class or only in the school building, i.e. in the corridors or in the canteen.

In the report, the advisory board indicated that it was willing to continue discussions with the state government and asked for better data.
Without an improved database, the advisory board could “no longer perform its roasting activity in the desired quality,” says the special report.
It cannot be ruled out that, due to a low willingness to vaccinate, the regional health system could become overloaded, which could also affect vaccinated people and children.
“This should be the political priority.” Dpa
