The North Rhine-Westphalian Transport Minister and Prime Minister-designate Hendrik Wüst has asked the SPD, Greens and FDP to support their plans to phase out coal earlier.
At the Junge Union's Germany Day in Munster, Wüst said on Saturday about the exploratory paper for a traffic light coalition that many questions would remain unanswered when it came to the planned phase-out of coal-fired power generation by 2030.
Münster - It must be answered where the electricity will then come from, how energy remains affordable and what should happen to the regions and workers who are dependent on coal, "We will be advocates for these people and regions," said Wüst.
