The handball players of the BSV Zwickau celebrated their first win of the season in the Bundesliga.
The promoted team retained the upper hand on Saturday against Bayer Leverkusen at 29:22 (17:10) in front of their home crowd and left the relegation zone.
The great goalkeeper Nele Kurzke (15 parades), Diana Magnusdottir (5) and Pia Adams (5/3) had the largest share in the success of the protégés of trainer Norman Rentsch.
Zwickau - Naina Klein (5) and Mareike Thomeier (5/2) scored the most goals for Leverkusen.
The hosts without a win in the first four games immediately set the scene on the floor.
Thanks to a very stable defense, Zwickau was 5-1 in the front after six minutes and extended this lead to 18:10 by the 32nd minute.
After that, the team from Saxony never got into trouble in any phase of the second half.
