The Gautinger dance group "immertanz" made it on the fourth attempt - the premiere of their new piece "Genesis" in the Bosco worked.

The ladies and one gentleman had rehearsed the performance partly digitally.

Gauting

- A brilliant achievement that can hardly be surpassed: there were cheers and never-ending applause at the premiere of the dance theater project “Genesis” by the group “immertanz” under the direction of Gauting choreographer and dancer Bettina Fritsche in the fully booked Bosco Hall. On Thursday evening the 16 “always dancers” at the age of 68 plus brought their jointly developed version of the creation story onto the stage with a gentleman - only in the fourth attempt due to the corona.

"We are so happy that you are back, the audience sorely missed," thanked Bettina Fritsche. Because her dance-loving ladies and the individual gentleman, some “well into the 80s”, first had to rehearse sequences of the creation story in lockdown via zoom video, lonely from the living room at home. Inspired by the music of Christian Ludwig Mayer, the excellently well-rehearsed “immertancers” brought the seven biblical days of creation to the stage in their very own version.

In the beginning there was ... the music: spherical xylophone sounds, a scale can be heard from the off.

The stage sinks into dark darkness.

Spot on.

To fast-paced piano music, the “Immertänzer” literally break into the spotlight, conquer the stage space with dynamic movements and synchronous rotations, and convey their great astonishment at the light with widely spread arm movements.

“It was dark, floods of water covered everything.

And God said: Let there be light, ”says Jannis Hofmüller's voice from the off.

It is the first day of creation, and the “always dancers” on stage wake up, vibrate like a leaf, move synchronously in groups - effortlessly even across the floor.

Deeply impressive body control

On the fourth day of creation - “The earth should turn green” - individual dancers of the ensemble, brilliantly instructed by Bettina Fritsche, demonstrate a deeply impressive body control with turns and snake movements to rhythmic percussion. The dynamic scene ends at the stop of three human sculptures. Finally, the danced scenes for the creation of the animal world are delicious. Fish in blue shirts wriggle on the bottom in the water, birds soar into the air with endless swings of their arms and flowing movements. And on land, the Gautingen artist Elke Hack pushes herself across the stage as a reptile with giant eyes. To inspiring piano music, "Immertanzen" again embody a giant elephant with a long swinging trunk.

"Then God created people in his own image: He created men and women," sounds the voice from off-screen. A dancer rises from the floor in pantomime as a puppet. A woman approaches the only man. "Multiply yourselves and spread yourselves on earth - to your responsibility" is the divine instruction. But the vortex follows, the rumble of thunder: God creates his image, humanity. Couples with blindfolds argue, carrying heavy loads of their filled black plastic bags ... But the grandiose Gautingen premiere of “Genesis” ends in a conciliatory manner. After the quiet of the biblical seventh day, the "always dancers" stand up again to the opening music of the congenially composed work.Full of admiration for the divine creation, the dancer's arms slowly rise towards the (sun) light. Happy and beaming, little Anna Wolf walks towards the audience at the finale, holding the hand of the dancer Manfred Suttorp ...

With this ingenious premiere of the “story of creation”, “immertanz” surpassed itself, really gave everything.

There is only one thing left: the desire for further performances - gladly filmed.
