26 years since the murder: Tonight, the memorial events for the late Yitzhak Rabin | Israel Today will open

A state youth rally will be held at the Rabin Center with the participation of the Minister of Education • Tomorrow: a special meeting of the Knesset plenum and the "Great Candle Rally" in Rabin Square in Tel Aviv


The 26th Memorial Day for the assassination of the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin will be celebrated tomorrow (Monday) throughout Israel. Dalia Rabin, Minister of Education Yifat Shasha Bitton, Director General of the Ministry of Education and Chairman of the National Student Council.

Also, tomorrow afternoon, a memorial service will be held for the late Rabin, "Ner Yitzhak", in the presence of President Yitzhak Herzog and representatives of the Rabin family. In the afternoon, a state memorial service will be held on Mount Herzl in the presence of the President, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Knesset.

At five there will be a special meeting in the Knesset plenum in memory of the former prime minister, and at eight there will be a "big candle assembly" in Rabin Square in Tel Aviv - a unique performance that includes lighting thousands of soul candles.

In Rabin Square, there will also be an exhibition dealing with the sanctity of life, initiated by the "Remember the Murder - Fighting for Democracy" coalition, led by the youth movements.

Thousands of obituaries will be placed in special display facilities bearing the names of people who have died in the past year in the many difficult events that have shaken Israeli society.

Above them will be a large sign with the caption "You are missing".
