3: 2 against Giesen: Netzhoppers achieve first win of the season

The Netzhoppers KW-Bestensee achieved their first win of the season in the volleyball Bundesliga. Outstanding player at the winner on Sunday was outside attacker Theo Timmermann.

The 25-year-old, a home-grown Netzhoppers, helped his team with courageous attack actions over some critical situations and came as the best scorer with 21 points.

The first set was perfectly balanced.

When the Netzhoppers first defeated themselves on three points through the American Brandon Rattray (12: 9), it didn't take long before the Giesener came up again (13:14).

In the final phase of the section, Blake Leeson initially scored for the hosts at the second set ball, which Timmermann then used.

The basketball players from Syntainics MBC were eliminated in the cup round of 16.

The Weißenfelser clearly lost their guest appearance at s.Oliver Würzburg on Sunday with 78:97 (34:49).

Nicolas Carvacho (18), William Buford (17) and Cameron Hunt (13) played a key role in ensuring that the Lower Franconians made it into the top eight.

For the Weißenfelser only Nikola Rebic and Jamel Morris (17 each) scored double digits.

After the clearly won second round, however, the game tipped over.

The Netzhoppers lost their line.

The assumption weakened, the impact pressure eased and the block was no longer as stable as before.

Giesen reached the tiebreak without showing off.

In the decisive set, a series of services from Timmermann quickly resulted in a 5-2 lead for Brandenburg.

This lead gave the team enough boost to show their strengths again.

Old hand Dirk Westphal ended the game with the second match point.
