OFCA calls for arrangements to be made as soon as possible to avoid failure to complete system adjustments in time

An OFCA spokesperson said that so far, only about 80% of residents in multi-storey buildings using public antenna systems have completed adjustments.

In the remaining 45 days, building owners and property managers who have not yet adjusted the system must make arrangements as soon as possible to avoid failure to complete the system adjustment in time.

Property managers should provide assistance to people with special needs

After completing the adjustment of the public antenna system, the owner and the property manager should follow the instructions of the contractor to notify the residents whether they need to search for their digital TV receiving equipment again.

Property managers should pay special attention to the elderly, ethnic minorities and people with special needs in the households, and provide them with appropriate assistance when necessary.

OFCA reminded that the six digital television programs in Hong Kong will switch to the new transmission frequency from December 1 (0:00).

As for households who use their own antennas (including those living in village houses, bungalows, and tenement houses), there is no need to adjust their digital TV receiving equipment or antennas for the time being.

Residents concerned need to search for their digital TV receiving equipment if they are unable to watch any program after the early hours of December 1.
