An 81-year-old from Radebeul was robbed of a large amount of cash by a fraudster.
The senior had been called by a supposed police officer, the police said on Sunday.
The stranger pretended that the 81-year-old's son had caused a traffic accident and could only be saved from imprisonment with the payment of 15,000 euros.
Dresden / Radebeul - The 81-year-old then withdrew the money and, according to the caller's instructions, handed it over to a stranger on the street.
According to the police, the strangers tried the same scam with four other senior citizens from Dresden and the surrounding area.
In three cases the called party hung up, in the case of an 84-year-old a bank employee became suspicious when the woman tried to withdraw 4500 euros.
There was no damage.
