A serious accident occurred on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines: a
hiker, Andrea Cembali, 29, died falling from the Via dei Balzi dell'Ora
, in the Corno alle Scale area, in the province of Bologna.

The friend who was with him on the trek and who alerted 118 told the rescuers. The two, both residents of Imola (Bologna) had left this morning deciding to climb to the top of the mountain on the Cai path 337, the Balzi dell 'Now rated for experienced hikers.
The two had already traveled a different route when, having
reached 1,850 meters, Andrea leaned over to take a picture and fell, plummeting for several meters
. The phone call from his friend to 118 arrives at 1.30pm. The team of the Alpine Rescue and Speleological Corno alle Scale station, which was already in the vicinity of the Croce del Corno, is sent to the site.
The technicians reached the scene of the accident in a few minutes but the 29-year-old was unconscious and without a pulse.
The cardio pulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, carried out until the arrival of the 118 helicopter of Pavullo nel Frignano, equipped with a winch with a Cnsas technician on board, were useless.
The doctor could not help but ascertain the death of the boy.
The body was recovered with the winch and transported to the Polle area.

Via dei Balzi dell'Ora - made up of a series of large boulders that make up part of the ridge of the Corno alle Scale - is a route classified as 'EE' (Expert Hikers).
The peak is at 1,945 meters.
