At the government hearing today (Sunday), Prime Minister Naftali Bennett backed the law that will expand the police's search powers and allow a search without a court order, saying "we are losing the country."
During the discussion, the government discussed violence in Arab society.
Justice Minister Gideon Saar said at the hearing that "currently 80% of the murders in Arab society are not solved. Without changing the rules of the game, we will not succeed."
Defense Minister Bnei Gantz agreed on this issue, but noted that "it is important that this is only a temporary order and we need to make sure that we do not deviate from other issues."
Minister of Environmental Protection Tamar Zandberg said the law is "an unusual thing in a democracy", and wondered "Will the violation of individual rights be limited? The feeling of the citizens is that they have been blamed for them, and not for the criminal organizations."
