Camera records roofs of road stock and condition

 An orange-silver measuring vehicle with cameras on the roof will drive down Dachau streets on Tuesday, October 26th.

The company eagle eye technologies, commissioned by the city of Dachau, records the existing roads and their condition.

The data is then processed and documented.

These should serve as the basis for the construction of an exact street cadastre.

The recordings remain exclusively with the City of Dachau, they are not published and are not passed on to third parties.

The vehicle is equipped with special sensors that are used to record the road surfaces.

Numerous cameras simultaneously record the road space and record the traffic systems.

The data is then used exclusively for internal purposes, i.e. for the documentation of the municipal transport infrastructure.

By precisely measuring the street space, work processes and renovation measures can be planned more efficiently.

The data acquisition is planned for October 26th, but may have to be postponed depending on the weather.

A few years ago, the Google concern caused a sensation and sometimes annoyance with its camera cars.

Back then, Google made recordings around the world for its Google Street View product.

Of course, data collection for the city of Dachau has nothing to do with such things.
