The protégés of trainer Rodrigo Pastore got the upper hand on Saturday after a furious race to catch up with the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig with 93:84 (51:47).
Mindaugas Susinskas (19), Gerald Robinson (15), Darion Atkins, Frantz Massenat and Isiaha Mike (12 each) scored the most points for the Saxons.
Braunschweig - Martin Peterka (23) and Tookie Brown (14) scored best for Braunschweig.
In the initial phase, the people of Chemnitz were completely beside themselves and found no connection to the game at all.
Braunschweig was already leading with 41:21 after eleven minutes.
