One topic was clearly the focus of the Olching citizens' meeting.

Several citizens complained about drivers who did not adhere to the speed limit.

In one case, the Feursstrasse, there was even talk of a “Formula 1 track”.

Olching

- This year there is only one citizens' meeting for all parts of the city in Olching, but it became clear what is burning under the nails: driving too fast.

Around 100 citizens had come to the gymnasium of the middle school.

Ten presented their concerns.

Bernhard Reisinger demanded that the city should do something about the "Formula 1 track Feursstraße".

“There is a lot of speeding from the social center to the railway underpass because the route is straight.

And it keeps getting worse."

Alfons Keim agreed with him.

"It goes from 6.30 am to 11 pm in some cases and is a considerable noise nuisance for us residents." The two of them wanted more controls by the police and a speedometer on Feursstrasse.

Reisinger also advocated 30 km / h on the entire route.

Mayor Andreas Magg pointed out that Feursstrasse is a main street. “The speed limit is just 50.” The city has massively upgraded the speed indicators. There are now 20 pieces in Olching. But: “There are many places where they would be necessary. That is why we had to prioritize and the city council decided to set them up at the entrance to the town as well as in front of schools, kindergartens and other sensitive areas. That is the first step and does not mean that we will not expand it further. "

Speeding over the Donaustraße is also a source of annoyance.

The road is traffic-calmed, actually walking pace applies.

But: "We notice every day that hardly anyone is traveling at less than 40 kilometers an hour," complained Schorsch Smolinski.

Lately, many families have moved here.

"That's why we have an extremely large number of children here who ride their bikes or scooters on the street."

Smolinski often receives visits from his grandchildren and worries about their safety.

One problem is that drivers who drive via Daxerhof onto Donaustraße can easily overlook the Spielstraße sign.

Another Olchinger believes that many do not know how fast you can drive in a traffic-calmed area.

"You can only get this under control if you stand up, stop people and educate them."

Mayor Magg does not believe that: “People know the signs and understand them.” Other municipalities have added additional information with the words “walking pace”.

But that didn't change anything.

A resident in Neu-Esting was annoyed by the speeders, which accelerated extremely on the Dachauer and Schlossstrasse - especially in the underpass.

But there were other concerns too.

A Graßlfinger criticized the water supply in his district.

“We have no water pipes and our wells are often contaminated with germs.

That is dangerous to health.

But nothing moves because the cost-benefit ratio is said to be too bad. ”Magg promised to take the topic with him.

A new Estinger drew attention to the fact that some trees in the Amperauen had snapped and protruded into the river bed. He asked whether this was problematic from the point of view of flood protection. Magg replied that the area belongs to the Free State. “The difficulty is that it intervenes little due to the special need for protection.” There have even been considerations that the walking paths should not be used because the Free State has a security obligation there. But that is unthinkable, says Magg. That is why signs are now being put up.

Magg wants to have the proposed bus shelter at the middle school and a dog toilet on the grass path checked.

The announcement by the Olching town hall chief that Telekom would be relocating broadband in Graßlfinger Moos and also parts of Esting and Wolfgangshof by 2024 made people happy.
