Recently, there was an anniversary in the Mieming Mountains: the Wolfratshauser Hütte was 100 years old.

The section celebrated with an anniversary tour on the Grubigstein.

Wolfratshausen / Lermoos

- The weekend from September 10th to 12th at the Wolfratshauser Hütte was all about a big anniversary.

Because: The hut was inaugurated on October 2nd, 1921 at an altitude of 1751 meters high above Lermoos.

It was up for the 100 year old.

The participants of the section arrived at the hut on Friday, as the “anniversary tour” was already planned for Saturday morning.

“This led us to the hut's local mountain, the 2233 meter high Grubigstein,” reports press spokesman Alexander Wenger.

"The weather was cloudy throughout, at the summit there was alternation between thick fog and brief views of the surrounding mountains, but it stayed dry all day."

For the evening, the section's hut advisor, Peter Taubert, put together a presentation on the history of the hut. It all started with a small hut and a few beds. The steadily growing flow of visitors was due to several expansions in the following decades, most recently in 2004. Today, a total of 45 overnight accommodations are available. The lecture, which was received with much applause, was framed by the Schäftlarner Stubnmusi, which played until the hut was quiet.

On Sunday, the traditional mountain mass took place on the well-occupied terrace of the hut, which is known to offer a breathtaking view of the Zugspitze massif.

It was celebrated by Kaplan Jaime-Pasqual Hannig from the parish of Wolfratshausen.

He was supported by the town band, which played after the mass.

Wenger: "The weather meant well, it was cool, but very sunny."

For the anniversary, the section received the city coat of arms from the city of Wolfratshausen, personally represented by the second mayor Günther Eibl and the two city councilors Alfred Fraas and Fritz Schnaller.

It will have a place of honor in the hut.
