The commander of the German Air Force today (Sunday) flew in the skies of the country with the commander of the Israeli Air Force and then visited Yad Vashem.
The "Wings of History" flight was held today as part of a "Blue Flag" exercise led by the Israeli Air Force Commander, Major General Amikam Nurkin, and the German Air Force Commander, Lieutenant General Ingo Gerhartz.
The flight took place in the skies of Israel and above its national institutions.
The commanders of the Israeli and German Air Forces visited Yad Vashem together, where they toured the photography exhibition "Flashes of Memory" and participated in an official memorial ceremony in the Tent of Remembrance.
During the ceremony, they lit the "perpetual fire" burning in the building and laid a wreath together in memory of the victims of the Holocaust.
