More than 150 families warn Secretary of State that the move could ignite terrorism in Jerusalem • The families: "The United States is our ally, do it in Ramallah"

More than 150 families whose loved ones were killed in terrorist attacks are turning to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinkan to stop the opening of the Palestinian consulate in Jerusalem.

Following Blinken's statement that "we will move forward with the process of opening the consulate as part of deepening ties with the Palestinians," bereaved families are warning that the move will rekindle terrorism in the city, as it has in the past.

"Who like the residents of Jerusalem is experiencing Palestinian terror in the flesh, there is no reason to produce it again. This is a complete Trojan horse. The United States is a friend of Israel and its ally.

Do not hurt us.

"Instead of encouraging the world to cross Jerusalem and turn it into a city plagued by terrorism, you must send a clear message to the entire world: Jerusalem belongs to the Jewish people," the families write.

Among those who signed the unusual application: Yael Shevach, the widow of Rabbi Raziel Shevach who was murdered in Samaria;

Geula and David Malka, parents of Hadas Malka who was killed in a terrorist attack in Jerusalem;

Herzl and Miriam Hajaj, parents of Lieutenant Shir Hajaj who was killed in a car bomb attack at the Commissioner's Palace;

And dozens of other parents, brothers and children of Jews killed in terrorist attacks, who belong to the "Choose Life" forum.

They also write to Blink that "for thousands of years Jews have looked up to Jerusalem. The Jewish wedding ceremony is the only one in the world where the groom ties his fate to the fate of a city. The Jewish groom says, 'If I forget you, Jerusalem will be forgotten.' "Or any regular diplomatic delegation to the Palestinians - please do it in Ramallah. Why do you insist on opening this embassy in the capital of Israel?"

The letter was initiated by the If You Will movement, which is also signed.

"If the secretary of state wants to promote 'peace,' the last thing he needs to do is set up a special American consulate for the Palestinians in the Israeli capital," he said. A friendly country, it is also a signal to the Palestinians that the way of refusal and resistance is acceptable and there is a wage on its side.

Apart from terrorism, this step will not encourage anything. "
