Dachau - Because of a gas leak at a gas station, the on-duty watch of the Dachau volunteer fire brigade was called to a gas station in Alten-Römer-Straße on Sunday at 11.30 a.m.
The driver of a so-called “Compressed Natural Gas” (CNG) -operated vehicle noticed a gas leak during the refueling process and, in consultation with the filling station staff, notified the fire brigade. When the fire brigade arrived, the vehicle was still at the pressure pistol, as Wolfgang Reichelt, press spokesman for the Dachau fire brigade, announced. However, initially no more gas flowed. "After ensuring the fire protection, the vehicle was separated from the dispensing systems and the remaining gas flowing in was knocked down with water," says Reichelt. After there was no further leak, the vehicle was towed to a specialist workshop under the supervision of the fire brigade, where it was checked again accordingly. For security reasons, the petrol station had to be closed as much as possible during the work. The mission was over after more than two hours. dn
