Brandenburg's Greens leader Julia Schmidt has supported the efforts of the SPD, Greens and FDP at the federal level to ideally bring the coal phase out to 2030.
"Science has long said that climate catastrophes and extreme weather events will increase if we do not significantly reduce CO2 emissions and protect our climate," said Schmidt on Sunday of the dpa and referred, among other things, to the flood disaster in western Germany in the summer.
Potsdam - A central measure to reduce CO2 emissions and to achieve the Paris climate targets is an early coal phase-out to 2030, emphasized Schmidt.
