The exhibition by the Leipzig artist Neo Rauch on the Heidecksburg in Rudolstadt attracted more than 1000 visitors on the first weekend.
“The show is very well received.
We are more than satisfied with the start ”, said the director of the Thuringian State Museum Heidecksburg, Sabrina Lüderitz, on Sunday of the German press agency.
Rudolstadt - The special exhibition “Das Wehr” shows around 70 works by the artist and was opened on Friday evening.
The majority of the works exhibited in Rudolstadt come from the unsalable private collection of Rauch, who is considered the most important representative of the New Leipzig School and is one of the most important contemporary international painters.
In addition to six large-format and very colored canvas paintings, many smaller, unknown drawings will be presented at the show in Thuringia.
The exhibition can be visited until January 16.
