She ended up agreeing to it, without giving in to the general trend.
From Tuesday, Paris will have a municipal police.
But this force, which starts with 154 agents and which, in total, will number 3,400 in 2026, will not be equipped with a lethal weapon.
The largest municipal police in France, which will intervene in the capital, place of all possible excesses and risks, will not provide its women and men with 9 mm pistols.
They will each have a tonfa, a tear gas canister and a bulletproof vest.
Equipment which nevertheless underlines the risks of their profession.
