Jean Castex visits Pope Francis

It should commemorate the resumption of diplomatic relations in 1921. But the Sauvé report is in people's minds.


Presidents and prime ministers are there every week in the Vatican.

But, while the conclusions of the Sauvé report on sexual abuse in the Church are still in everyone's memory, Jean Castex's visit to the Vatican on Monday takes a special turn.

The Prime Minister, whose trip was initially planned to commemorate the centenary of the resumption of diplomatic relations with the Holy See, in 1921, will be accompanied by Gérald Darmanin, the Minister of the Interior and Worship, and Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
