The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Mohamed Hassan Qatna, confirmed today that the allocation of fodder for sheep from bran will be increased from 5 kg per head to 12 kg, knowing that it was raised two months ago to 10 kg, and the feed ration will be subsidized by 25 percent in order to preserve the stability of livestock.

During a tour that included a number of villages in the As-Suwayda governorate, namely Al-Sura Al-Kabir, Al-Ash’ari, Badia Al-Suwayda, Al-Matonah, Douma, Dam Al-Zuluf, Dahr Al-Jabal and Al-Qina, Qatna indicated that the ministry is keen to secure the requirements of breeders, increase their livestock allocations from fodder, find solutions to the problems facing their work, and support the governorate with the necessary mechanisms for reclamation. Land to increase the area for agricultural investment.

During his meeting with a number of farmers and educators in the aforementioned villages, they demanded the necessity of providing sufficient quantities of barley seeds and their allocations of diesel, allowing the drilling of artesian wells, the reclamation of new areas of land, the completion of the re-operation of the idle wells in the Badia, and the increase in the quantities of rationed fodder for camels.

Minister Qatana said, “A sum of 100 billion pounds is currently being sought to support the fodder trading fund in order to grant soft loans to breeders,” calling on the agricultural bank in the governorate to provide soft loans to purchase fodder, restore the damaged wells in the Badia, secure the extraction of fodder from a nearby center on the Badia communities, and create a center To distribute fuel nearby.

He also requested the formation of a scientific technical committee to determine the water requirement for irrigating trees in the village of Al-Matona and providing electrical feeding to the well of Al-Mukarramah located in the village. .

Minister Qatana confirmed that he will communicate with the Ministry of Water Resources to find out the water surplus that can be used to expand the areas capable of cultivating strategic crops, especially wheat in the governorate, re-cultivating the trees that were cut down at the Al-Qunya site, and taking the utmost measures against violators.

In a statement to reporters, the Governor of As-Suwayda, Engineer Hammam Sadiq Debyat, indicated that the governorate is ready to cooperate to overcome the difficulties facing the people of the Badia and to ensure the delivery of fuel to educators in their areas.

The minister was accompanied on the tour by some members of the leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party and a number of directors in the province.
