The corona pandemic is a tough time for restaurateurs in many ways.

This is probably one of the reasons why the Dehoga district office in Starnberg has increased its membership.

There were changes in the board of directors.

District

- It was the first district assembly of the Starnberg branch of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (Dehoga) since the beginning of the pandemic that did not have to take place online. The members of the Strandhotel Berg recently elected the board and looked back over the past two years. In view of the pandemic and the associated requirements, they had it all.

What the Dehoga members therefore agreed on: The reduced VAT rate of currently seven percent on food, which was introduced due to the pandemic, should also apply beyond its planned end in December 2022. Dehoga has been campaigning for a permanent reduction in the VAT rate not only since the Corona crisis. If it were up to the restaurateurs, the rate of seven percent on food would also be applied to non-alcoholic beverages, "so that we can keep our company and pay our employees better," says district chairwoman Claudia Aumiller from the Hotel Garni Jakl-Hof in Steinebach. In order to emphasize their concerns, the Starnberg-based Dehoga representatives therefore want to approach the Society for Economic and Tourism Development (gwt) toto discuss with the representatives of the regional agency, said Aumiller.

Dehoga Starnberg: There are also positive things

In addition to the endurance test that Corona restaurateurs were sent to, there were also positive things to report: During the pandemic, the Starnberg-based Dehoga was able to gain members, which Aumiller attributes to the “good work of the association”.

While there were 120 members before the start of the pandemic, the district office now has 140 members.

There were slight changes within the board of directors.

Aumiller's deputy Thomas Bernhard, who had been a member of the board since 1999, gave up his post.

Aumiller attributes Bernhard's decision to the fact that he is "no longer so close to the action" because he has leased his restaurant, Café Raabe in Wörthsee.

The previous second deputy district chairwoman Barbara Lindinger from Sepperlwirt in Meiling is moving up as the new deputy district chairwoman; Till Weiß, host of the Augustiner am Wörthsee, will take over her previous position.

After the experience with the pandemic, Aumiller has one wish for herself and her colleagues for the future: just no further lockdown.
