Russia has in the last two days recorded mortality and morbidity rates from the corona virus.

Today (Sunday) 34,404 new cases were diagnosed, a record since the outbreak of the plague, along with 997 deaths - five less than the record recorded but yesterday, when for the first time there were more than a thousand deaths from the virus in one day.

Authorities in Russia are blaming the current wave for the slow pace of the vaccination campaign, and the Ministry of Health has been forced to ask retired doctors to return to the hospital-laden hospitals.

According to official figures, the death toll in Russia since the outbreak is at least 223,312, along with more than eight million cases.

Russia estimates that 45% of its citizens are vaccinated against corona, some thanks to vaccines and others who have recovered from the virus.

In Moscow the figure is even higher - 61% and it reaches 64% in the district surrounding the capital.

Russia was quick to develop and launch the "Sputnik 5" vaccine last year, but many in the public are reluctant to accept it.

Only about 48 million of Russia's 144 million citizens are fully vaccinated, and 51 million received only one dose.

According to a separate count by the Rustat Statistical Bureau, 418,000 Corona deaths were recorded between last April and August this year.

Excess mortality in Russia, which according to some experts is the best way to measure the impact of an epidemic, has reached 575,000 more excess cases compared to the average mortality rate between 2015 and 2019.

Despite the severe eruption, the Kremlin refuses to impose new closures due to their economic cost.

Australia: The longest closure in the world ends

Melbourne, the city that has been under more closures than any other country in the world, will ease restrictions this coming weekend.

In total, five million residents of the Australian city have been under six closures, lasting more than 260 days - about nine months - since March 2020. From the residents.

"Today is a wonderful day," said Victoria Prime Minister Daniel Andrews, announcing the easing of the closure.

"Today is a day when the people of Victoria can be proud of what they have achieved."

The facilitations will include the reopening of the tourism industry and businesses, but in a limited format.

Additional relief is underway after 80% of residents complete their vaccination, with estimates estimated to happen no later than 5 November.

Italy presents a particularly austere green mark

Italy began over the weekend to implement one of the most stringent “green characters” in the world, with workers in all sectors now committed to being vaccinated against corona or alternatively presenting a negative test. Even those who have recovered will be entitled to continue their work, as part of the stringent regulations approved by the Italian government last month. Under the law, which will remain in effect until the end of the year, workers without a green label will be suspended and will not receive a salary. Anyone who tries to work anyway, could face a fine of 1,500 euros.

Regulations ignited stormy demonstrations in Italy, which were also exploited by far-right elements. Yesterday, tens of thousands of members of the major unions demonstrated in Rome demanding the dismantling of the neo-fascist organizations that rioted last week during a protest against the green label. Twelve people were arrested in demonstrations, including leaders of the Forza Nova organization, and some demonstrators broke through police lines to reach Prime Minister Mario Draghi's office, while others vandalized the headquarters of Italy's major workers' union, CGIL.

"It is time for the state to demonstrate its democratic strength."

Many of those who demonstrated yesterday waved the union’s red flag as they marched from the area near the city’s main station to San Giovanni Square.

"Not for fascism and violence, but for work, security and rights," was the motto of the rally.

"We want concrete action, not just talk. It is time that the state demonstrate the strength of its democracy and enforce the laws and the Constitution", said the secretary general of the association, Maurizio Landini, during the rally. "A country that forgets its past has no future."

Organizers estimated between 50,000 to 60,000 people attended the rally.CISL head Pierpaolo Bombadieri estimated the number to have reached 100,000. , Including Matteo Slavini.

Elsewhere in Italy, workers' organizations have protested against the new measures.

On Thursday, workers' organizations in Trieste, a port city in the northeast of the country, threatened to shut down operations at the port and about 6,000 protesters gathered outside its gates.

"The green card is a bad thing, it's discrimination under the law. It's not a health regulation, but just a political move to create division between people," said Fabio Bucin, a 59-year-old port worker. A local union official said about 40 percent of port workers Are not vaccinated, a much higher rate compared to the general population in Italy.

In this month's mayoral election, a party that opposes vaccines even won 4.5% of the vote.

Italy was the focus of the epidemic in Europe after the first eruption of the corona in early 2020, and it imposed one of the toughest and longest-running closures in the world.

However, thanks to the vaccination campaign, she was able to return to normal and her mortality and morbidity rates remained stable.
