The novel “Mountains of the Sun” begins its documentation of the terrorist war on Syria since 2011, reviewing in great detail the events with a documentary approach and field interaction.
The chapters of the novel written by the journalist Riad Ahmed contain an explanation of the battles fought by the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army against the most dangerous conspiratorial war and the situation of the Syrians during its repercussions.
It was evident that the author of the novel was affected by his work in the field of media and his direct experience of many cases resulting from the war, including the kidnapping of his relatives at the hands of terrorist organizations, which increased his adherence to revealing the reasons for the conspiracy, especially according to the characters of his novel.
The protagonist and one of the officers of the Syrian Arab Army, Imad Mihoub, who was injured during the war. His presence is evident in the novel in his continuous affirmation of the lofty meanings of the reasons for our defense of our civilization and the motives for conspiring against it, and the need to support all those who work on documenting the war, including journalists and writers.
The protagonists of the novel as a whole are Colonel Tariq Suleiman and the combatant commander Nizar Al-Suleiman, Dalal and Abu Ahmed, who was martyred later. We find them in the novel as actors by moving the events and confronting the aggressors.
During the turn of events, the author of the novel narrates a saying by a Zionist official that reflects the role of the occupation entity in the war on Syria and its support for terrorists when he says: “It is not fun or politics to kill your enemy with your own hands. When your enemy kills himself by his hand or by the hand of his brother, the fun is greater.”
Ahmed also documents in his narration of the battle of Rabia, northeast of Latakia, and how the army men purified the area from terrorists and the bravery of the army soldiers so that martyrdom would be their most important requirement for the homeland.
The novel is located in 173 pages of medium size and was published by Ain Al-Zohour for printing, publishing and distribution.
