The overthrow of the late Major Hossam Sajir in Nahariya:
A prosecutor's statement was filed today (Sunday) against Nasih Sah, a 44-year-old resident of Araba, who is suspected of trampling the death of the late police volunteer, the late Major Husam Sajir, and seriously injuring Police Officer Amir Abu Rish while responding to an incident in the city of Nahariya during the Sukkot holiday. The incident began when policeman Abu Rish and police volunteer Sajir from the Nahariya police station responded to a call from Hotline 100 following a report of causing noise following infrastructure work during the holiday at a construction site in Nahariya.
When the police team arrived at the scene, they noticed a number of workers from a village near the city of Jenin who raised the suspicion that they were not staying legally in Israel and therefore the police began checking the workers' documents.

Large police forces were called to the scene of the incident while deploying checkpoints and conducting extensive searches with the help of a helicopter to locate the suspect.
Shortly after the incident, the suspect was stopped with his vehicle near Shlomi as part of an initiated police checkpoint set up at the scene.

The investigation revealed that the suspect got into his vehicle in order to escape from the scene, despite the police exercising their powers, hit the police officer and the volunteer who were standing nearby through the car door that was open, ran over them and fled.
