Russia confirmed that improving its relations with Britain can only be done if the latter abandons its aggressive statements and steps towards it.
The Russian ambassador to London Andrei Kelin told the BBC today: We are interested in improving Russian-British relations, but statements by British ministers that Russia is an enemy and must be deterred do not help in that.
Kelin pointed out that Russia and Britain, despite all this, are ready to cooperate to solve a number of international issues, including in the field of combating climate change, which is a global problem, and efforts must be united to confront this danger, noting that the arrival of a large Russian delegation to participate in the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention About climate change, which will be held at the end of this month or the beginning of next month in the Scottish city of Glasgow, is a good evidence of Moscow's serious position on the issue of global warming.
