As the host of the Final Four tournament in the Schöneberg swimming pool, the defending champion lost to the German water polo champion Waspo 98 Hannover with 14:18 (3: 4.3: 3.6: 7.2: 4) on Sunday.
The Lower Saxony celebrated their fifth cup triumph, Spandau remains with 31 cup titles since the competition began in 1972.
Berlin - The decision of a long-term tightly contested and exciting final came with a three-goal lead right at the beginning of the fourth leg of the game.
Then the team of coach Karsten Seehafer controlled the rest of the game with a total of ten different goalscorers.
