Syria won the third place in the World Shooting Championships recently hosted by Egypt in the fields of the Egyptian Olympic Games in the new administrative capital.
This came after the shooters "Moataz Qouli, Samer Qudsi and Haitham Taha" scored 21 points, to be crowned third place in the world championship in the groups category "Senior Choppers".
The head of the Syrian diplomatic mission in Egypt, Dr. Bassam Darwish, who participated as a member of the coronation committee, praised in a press statement the outstanding performance of the Syrian shooters who raised the Syrian flag high in the tournament, and said that "the Syrian team impressed everyone with its wonderful performance and scored advanced positions in the competitions."
Darwish pointed out that the coronation of Syria's team in the championship is an achievement added to the record of achievements that Syria has achieved in all fields.
In turn, the player Moataz Qouli said that "the victory came as the culmination of intensive training carried out by the team members with the support of the Syrian national institutions."
The coronation committee was chaired by the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, President of the International Shooting Federation, and Major General Hazem Hosni, President of the African and Egyptian Shooting Federation.
The World Shooting Championship was held at the shooting ranges in the Egyptian International Olympic Games City, which included the World Championships for Shooting Helicopters, the Grand Prix Championship, the African Championship, and the conclusion of the World Championship competitions with the participation of 350 male and female shooters from 15 Arab and foreign countries.
