Meir Sheetrit said that the family accepted the arrest of the two men and the woman from "Shuvu Banim" with mixed feelings. "Glad we are towards a solution, less happy because it is not certain we will find my brother's DNA." He talked about the frustration that in the past the suspects had resorted to a tactic of silence, thus being released and set free.

Meir Sheetrit, the brother of Nissim Sheetrit, whose disappearance in 1986 made headlines today (Sunday), after the three suspects involved in it, two men and a woman from Shuvu Banim were arrested, said tonight that the family is in mixed feelings.

"We are happy that we are towards a final solution, but less happy because it is not certain that we will find my brother's DNA. There may be evidence of the murder, but I want to bring my brother's remains to the Israeli grave and sit on it for seven."

Sheetrit recounts the frustration that the suspects have been arrested in the past and released.

"These are people who were arrested and used the tactic of silence. By law, if a person is detained this way and that day they are released, they knew the law and used the exercise, kept quiet and went out and walked around freely. "You will receive support to extend their detention even if they do not speak. That they will remain in detention and will not see the light of day. They murdered a 16-year-old boy and did not account to anyone."

Have you suspected other people over the years?

"I got information from people inside, people who were boys back and retired right after when they realized where things were going with the chastity guards, who told me they had kidnapped him and beat him up."

He said he was frustrated by the conduct of the police over the years.

"There are two possibilities either the police did not want to solve or there were unsophisticated people in the police."

In January 1986, Nissim Sheetrit, a 17-year-old ultra-Orthodox young man, disappeared after arranging to meet Mike, a man who had met Sheetrit and his friends a week earlier.

According to testimonies and publications at the time, Sheetrit had been violently attacked earlier by the modesty guards operating at the time on the Haredi street.

Attempts over the years to locate Mike, the anonymous man, have stalled.
