Irresponsibility: The fact that drinking alcohol during pregnancy is dangerous, did not prevent the resident of Sharon from getting on the road when she was drunk • She was accused of causing damage and was sent under house arrest

A 36-year-old pregnant woman, a resident of the Sharon region, has been charged in recent days by the Tel Aviv Police Traffic Claims Department with two cases of road accidents caused by her while driving while intoxicated.

In the last case about a week ago, in which she was found driving drunk with four times the amount of alcohol allowed, she collided with a bus.

She did not attend the court hearing because, according to a medical certificate, she is not in a medical condition that allows her to leave the house, due to her pregnancy.

According to the indictment, the woman was driving a private vehicle in Tel Aviv, on Namir Street, from north to south, and approached the intersection with KKL-JNF Street. As a result of the accident, the driver of the minibus and the defendant were injured in their bodies and needed medical treatment.

The investigation revealed that the driver was drunk, after a recent blood test revealed alcohol in a concentration of 228 mg, an amount four times the amount allowed by law.

According to another indictment, last May the driver left a parking lot in Herzliya. Because she was driving and hit a vehicle with a concrete pillar at the exit of the parking lot, the defendant's vehicle was damaged as a result of the accident.

Police officers who arrived at the scene smelled alcohol, her behavior was wild and unusual, and on a balanced walking test she deviated from the line and swayed.

In the test of bringing a finger to the nose she did not use the right hand and did not close her eyes.

Also, the defendant was lawfully required to give a breath sample to detect alcohol in her body and refused.

In both cases she was charged with drunk driving, reckless driving and causing misconduct.

Judge Anat Yahav extended her house arrest, and another hearing will be held this week.
