The future of the team: Meet Florian Wirtz Israel today

2021-10-17T09:28:06.265Z

He has been in the headlines since he was a teenager • Signed a number of Bundesliga records • And never stops receiving compliments • Already at the age of 18 Florian Wurz is marked as the next thing on the team • With four goals in the first six games in the league, today he meets Bayern Munich

His first encounter with Bayern Munich, Florian Wurz will never forget.

It was on June 6, 2000 and although his Berkusen lost 2: 4, at the age of 17 and 34 days he scored the last goal and became the youngest scorer in Bundesliga history.

Since then, a lot has happened.

Wirtz's record has already been broken by Josuf Mokoku of Borussia Dortmund, but the midfielder has collected a host of other records and achievements.

He was the youngest to score five Bundesliga goals, the youngest to score ten, led the young Germany to a Euro 2021 win, made his senior debut, and last week netted a goal for Timo Werner in a 4-0 win over northern Macedonia.

Tonight, when he meets Bayern Munich again, he will already be aiming for much more than another goal for statistics.

Wirtz has always been in the headlines.

When he starred in FC Cologne as a youngster, he moved to Bayern Leverkusen in a surprising and dubious deal and in fact at every moment that has passed since.

He made his debut from former coach Peter Boss two weeks after celebrating his 17th birthday, thus breaking Kai Haberz's record as the youngest to do so.

He finished his debut season with that goal against Bayern Munich at the moment alone and constitutive, and last season showed another leap in ability when he scored five Bundesliga goals and three more in all competitions.

The compliments kept coming;

"He is a huge talent, who will very soon reach the big teams on the continent," Luther Mathews stated in an interview with the Bundesliga website earlier this year, and there is an impression that this statement is equivalent to "Tomorrow the sun will rise."

Florian Wurz thanks Leverkusen fans,

Because this season, Wirtz made another leap.

In six games he scored four league goals, to which he added two more in the Europa League.

The 18-year-old talent is a significant screw in Leverkusen's great season opener, which has won its last five games in all competitions and will host Bayern tonight, with the same three points for both teams.

“I have never seen an entire player so young,” said his coach Gerardo Savannah;

"He is fast, technical, smart, brave and very impressive."

His national team coach Hansi Flick added: "He is very intelligent and knows how to end attacks. We are very happy to have him with us."

What is no less impressive than the things that are said about Wirtz is the fact that he manages to deal with them and not be blinded by them.

Thanks to this, and of course thanks to the ability, past and present actor commentator Andreas Hinkel declared: "He is the future of Germany."

And in Germany the future - as well as the present - is Bayern Munich.

Wirtz's name is closely linked to the Bavarian club, but his father and agent have argued that there is no need to rush at the moment.

Everything is good and beautiful - but it is known that there is nothing that brings a player closer to Bayern Munich than being good in front of them.
