Big shock at St. Stadium.
James Park tonight (Sunday) after a Newcastle fan collapsed in the stands during the game against Tottenham in the 41st minute, which led to the stoppage of the game by referee Alex Mariner.
A medical team at the stadium went up to the stands to treat the local fan and the referee decided to take the teams down to the locker room immediately.
Whoever caught sight of the difficult situation is Tottenham's full-back, Sergio Regilon, who ran to the referee who ordered the players to stop.
The game was called off in a 1-2 draw for Tottenham, after Newcastle took the lead from a Colum Wilson goal after three minutes, but Tangoy Andombela (17) and Harry Kane (22) turned in favor of the Londoners.
After about a quarter of an hour, the game was renewed to the delight of local fans who came to celebrate the acquisition of the team by the Saudi investment fund last week.
Well done to Sergio Reguilón for stopping the referee to make him aware of a fan that has taken ill.
Also to Eric Dier for pretty much forcing the medical staff to get over to them with the defibrillator.👏👏👏 pic.twitter.com/Wu0JjUhM1c
