Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that the Nobel Peace Prize was discredited because it was awarded to politicians who allowed conflicts and wars to unleash.
Volodin said in his comment on his telegram channel today, when they talk about the Nobel Prize in the field of basic sciences, no questions arise, as it is awarded for real achievements, despite the lack of clear criteria for evaluating the laureates, recalling the truth of what was stated in the will of the founder of the prize, Alfred Nobel, which is. Contributing with a share to the solidarity of peoples, eliminating or reducing the number of permanent armies, and developing peace initiatives.
Volodin explained that in recent years, the award was given to the former president of the USSR, Mikhail Gorbachev, whose reign led to the disintegration of the peoples of the Union, which led to the collapse of the Soviet Union, the largest geopolitical catastrophe of the twentieth century. Her government later committed the genocide of Rohingya Muslims and former US President Barack Obama, who broke out under his rule the so-called “Arab Spring” and fueled the crisis in Syria.
Volodin explained that as a result of such decisions and examples, the Nobel Peace Prize has lost its credibility, considering that it is unacceptable that people involved in horrific crimes are still among the prize winners, but those who really deserve this prize are not.
